Welcome to Heroic Arts. Over the next few weeks, months and years we hope to develop into the greatest comic media site ever developed… but we all have to start somewhere. So in the beginning we’ll be bringing you a comic book database and review community. You’ll be able to look at the covers, research talent bibliographies, read reviews and generally listen to our readers and writers talk about what we love most, comics!
We aren’t going to promise you that we’ll have every issue right away. In fact we’re not even going to try. We’re about the details at Heroic Arts. Before we put up an issue we want to be sure we have all the details to it. Most of the issues you see up here will have actually been held in our staff’s hands before being entered into the site. We promise you, you’ll never see an issue on our site without a cover image, title, credit information and release date. We’ve seen other sites, in fact we’ve spent thousands of hours looking at them. They all have decent info and we’ve enjoyed them, but we want to make sure we have ALL the info before we post it. Why? Because, we’re just that crazy about comics. They take up a lot of our days, and we assume if you’re visiting us they take up yours too. So we want to make sure we’re not wasting the time you could be spending reading them.
We’ve grown up fans of the great publishers, DC and Marvel comics. We’ve grown to love the new guys like Dark Horse, Aspen, Image, Top Cow and all the rest. This site hasn’t been created to bash these big boys or compete with anything they do, quite the opposite actually. We’re here to honor them for the endless hours of entertainment they’ve provided us; the imaginary battles we’ve lived through in our minds eye and the laughs we’ve had. We’ve always wanted to fly with Superman, explore the Batcave with Batman and swing through Manhattan with Spider-man. That’s why this site is here before you, so that in our own personal way we, and hopefully you, can do that!
We hope you enjoy searching through it and looking at the vast amounts of information that will grow here. As a matter of fact we encourage you to be a part of it! That’s right, we built it, but we want you to help keep it going. If you click here it will take you to our submission page (It can also be accessed from the menu) from which we invite you, the fan-boys and girls like us, to submit reviews, editorials, articles or just a rant about how you feel the world needs more heroes. We want you do join us in creating a community of people who love every thing there is to love about this fantastic art form.
